All rooms have been decorated with original artwork and regional handicrafts. Hotel Modelo has been a family run establishment since the beginning and four generations of heart put into it have allowed us to understand our costumer's needs and meet them beyond their standards. - Info from TripAdvisor web site The hotel amenities include: Bar/Lounge, Business Center, Free Breakfast, Free High-Speed Internet, Free Parking, Pets Allowed, Restaurant and Room Service Number of rooms: 19 Since I'm a Habitat International staff member on the Brand Strategy and Special Initiatives team, I occasionally get the opportunity to staff special events. This past weekend I had the pleasure of flying to the Rockaways and assisting with disaster relief in Breezy Point, NY. This area was hit pretty hard by Hurricane (or Superstorm) Sandy in the fall. This event took place because the rock band, Fall Out Boy, wanted to give 20 of their local fans a chance to come serve alongside them and help their community clear out debris and rehab homes damaged by the storm. The band and their fans worked tirelessly removing debris, painting the interior of two homes, and clearing out lots that use to house homes that had to be demolished because they were so badly damaged. It was an amazing experience and I was really impressed with the band's dedication and enthusiasm about lending a hand to help others in need.
See, Habitat for Humanity not only builds new homes and rehabs existing homes, we also help with disaster relief and recovery efforts. We're building homes, communities and hope around the world! ![]() Hi team! Your $1,760 for the trip is due this Wednesday. Thanks! Tammie ![]() Take the pledge and get the BUiLD Toolkit. Around the world, 1.6 billion people live in substandard housing. That’s roughly one of every four people on the planet. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 3 million people to secure decent, affordable homes. But the need is vast and growing — and we’re always seeking ways to do more. BUiLD is a movement to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The BUiLD campaign helps raise awareness of the global housing need. It also raises funds for our mission to create affordable housing. Through BUiLD, people from all walks of life can contribute to our mission in ways other than volunteering to construct houses:
